JNTUA Revised Challenge Valuation Guidelines - Circular from DE

JNTU-Anantapur ( JNTUA ) Revised Challenge Valuation Guidelines

1. A student has to apply for Photo copy of the answer script before applying the challenge valuation by paying of Rs.1,500/- (Rupees One thousand five hundred only) thro challan or DD drawn in favor of "The Registrar, JNTUA, Anantapur" or Online, within 10 days from the date of announcement of the results.

2. A student may apply for challenge valuation with revaluation of photo copy of answer script by his/her teacher through proper channel, even after evaluation by his/her teacher if not satisfied, may apply within 30 days from the date of announcement of the results. The challenge evaluation results will be announced within 60 days from the date of announcement of the results.

3. The application form for challenge valuation shall be made available for download from JNTUA website under Examination Section. The application must be signed by the parent/guardian of the student, duly certified by the principal along with signed revaluated photocopy of answer script by his/her teacher.

4. A student applying for challenge valuation shall pay fee of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) through challan or DD drawn in favor of "The Registrar, JNTUA, Anantapur"or Online.

5. (a) In case of students already passed, if the increase in the marks after the challenge valuation is equal to or more than 15% of the maximum external marks of that particular subject, 80% of the challenge valuation fee paid by the student shall be refunded to the student.
(b) If the challenge valuation results in change of status from fail to pass, the student shall be refunded 50% of the amount.
(c) In no other case the challenge valuation fee shall be refunded.

6. The challenge valuation shall be carried out by an expert not less than Associate Professor cadre. Neither the student nor his parents/representative shall be permitted to be present during the valuation. However, the Photo copies of the valued answer script shall be given to the student.

7. After challenge valuation, the higher of the original valuation marks or the challenge valuation marks shall be treated as the final marks.

8. In case of change of marks due to the challenge valuation, same shall be updated in the marks database of the student by the Controller of Examinations only after obtaining note file approval from the Vice-Chancellor through Director of Evaluation.

9 In case if the first Evaluation is abnormal, the first evaluator shall be black listed from University evaluation process for two years with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.

10. The examination section shall issue a notification inviting applications for challenge valuation immediately after the publication of the results.

11. In case of any dispute. the decision of the Vice-Chancellor shall be final.

12. These revised guidelines for challenge valuation shall be implemented for all the Examinations commencing with effect from 1st December-2022.

The principals, students and parents are requested to cooperate with the university to follow the Revised challenge valuation guidelines.
