The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE), (हरियाणा विधालय शिक्षा बोर्ड) (Est: 1969) is the authority which conducts the Public Examinations at Middle, Matric (Secondary or High School) and Senior Secondary School (Academic & Vocational) levels annualy in the state of Haryana through the affiliated schools.The board conducts examinations twice in a year for Class 8th, 10th and 12th. The first semester exams conduct in September while second semester exam conduct in the month of March. The Results declare within 1–2 months after the exams. The board also annually conducts the Haryana D.Ed (Diploma in Education) entrance exam for students of Senior Secondary to admission into the D.Ed Course of two years. Apart from tests above, HBSE also conducts the Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test (HTET) time to time. The integral part of the HBSE, Haryana Open School (HOS) conducts on demand examination, annual and supplementary examinations at secondary and senior secondary levels. The main aim of HOS to provide education to all those who are beyond the reach of formal education due to any social, financial and other reasons.

Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) was formed in the year 1969 with its headquarters located at Bhiwani, Haryana. At first the headquarters was as Chandigarh and later shifted to Bhiwani on January 1981. With 100 officials assigned by the Punjab University of Chandigarh, the board has been started. The board conducts various examinations in the state and it first conducted 10th (Matriculation) examination in the year 1970 and to improve the standards of education at middle level, the board has started organizing middle level exams starting from 1976. It also started conducting 10+2 exams for general and vocational courses later. Along with that, there are many other state level exams organized by the board every year for the students. The board takes 1 to 2 months to declare the HBSE 10th result or any other exam result that it conducts. The board strives hard for the improvement in the educational system of the state and its main motto or aim is to provide the education for the candidates who are away from the reach of education because of various reasons like financial or social problems etc.
