On behalf of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), applications are invited from eligible and qualified candidates for the post of Scientist-‘C’ and Scientist-‘D’ in Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (ICERT), a Statutory Organization of MeitY.
For fulfilling the eligibility criteria, a candidate should possess one of the Essential Educational Qualifications as indicated in below and requisite experience, complete in all respects, by last date of receipt of applications(closing date i.e 19/12/2018). Educational Qualification & Work Experience Required As On 19.12.2018:
- Scientist-‘C’:
- (a) B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with five years of relevant work experience in Ministries or Departments or Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Central Government or Statutory Bodies or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Private Sectors; OR
- (b) Master degree in Science (M.Sc.) (Physics or Electronics or Applied Electronics) with six years of relevant work experience in Ministries or Departments or Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Central Government or Statutory Bodies or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Private Sectors; OR
- (c) Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) B-Level or Graduate Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) with six years of relevant work experience in Ministries or Departments or Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Central Government or Statutory Bodies or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Private Sectors; OR
- (d) Master in Computer Application (MCA) with six years of relevant work experience in Ministries or Departments or Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Central Government or Statutory Bodies or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Private Sectors.
- Scientist-‘D’:
- (a) B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with eight years of relevant work experience in Ministries or Departments or Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Central Government or Statutory Bodies or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Private Sectors; OR
- (b) Master degree in Science (M.Sc.) (Physics or Electronics or Applied Electronics) with nine years of relevant work experience in Ministries or Departments or Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Central Government or Statutory Bodies or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Private Sectors; OR
- (c) Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) B-Level or Graduate Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) with nine years of relevant work experience in Ministries or Departments or Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Central Government or Statutory Bodies or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Private Sectors; OR
- (d) Master in Computer Application (MCA) with nine years of relevant work experience in Ministries or Departments or Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Central Government or Statutory Bodies or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Private Sectors.
Age Limit:
- Scientist-‘C’: 35 Years as on closing date for receipt of applications
- Scientist-‘D’: 40 Years as on closing date for receipt of applications.
The upper age limit in respect of SC, ST, OBC, Persons with Disabilities (minimum 40% disability) and other special categories of persons shall be relaxable as per Govt. Rules and Orders issued from time to time.
Selection Process:
- The Direct recruitment to the posts of Scientist C and Scientist D would be done through a three stage process i.e Screening Test; Evaluation of the academic records followed by personal interaction/ interview.
- The Screening Test would be of qualifying in nature and would comprise of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) on Reasoning, Basic Mathematics, English, Aptitude, Attitude and Leadership Quality.
- The Screening Test would consist of 150 nos. of Multiple Choice Questions to be answered in 150 minutes.
- Candidates qualifying the Screening test with minimum 60% marks, would only be considered eligible to fill up the main application form for the posts of Scientist C and Scientist D for next level of selection process. In case sufficient number of candidates is not available in the OBC/SC/ST/PWD categories, the qualifying marks can be relaxed to 50% for OBC candidates and to 40% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
- The applications received would be evaluated by the Evaluation Committee and marks would be awarded for academic qualifications, GATE score, experience, number of Papers published and Conferences attended etc.
- A merit list of shortlisted candidates would be drawn based on the marks obtained out of 120 marks (excluding 30 marks for interview) and candidates in the ratio of 1:3 would be called for personal interaction/ interview i.e for each post, three candidates would be called for interview in their order of merit.
- Final Merit List would be prepared based on the marks obtained out of a maximum of 150 marks i.e marks obtained in the Evaluation process (max 120 marks) and in the interview (max 30 marks) would be added to arrive at the final score.

- SC / ST / PWD / Women candidates: Rs. 400/- per application
- General and all others: Rs.800/- per application
